  • Why I Left Instagram: Part Two - Parasociality
I'm back sooner than expected with part two of this series that is a deep dive into the perils of social media. In this episode we cover the topic of parasociality (from wikipedia): Parasocial interaction (PSI) refers to a kind of psychological relationship experienced by an audience in their mediated encounters with performers in the mass media, particularly on television and on online platforms. Viewers or listeners come to consider media personalities as friends, despite having no or limited interactions with them. PSI is described as an illusory experience, such that media audiences interact with personas (e.g., talk show hosts, celebrities, fictional characters, social media influencers) as if they are engaged in a reciprocal relationship with them. The term was coined by Donald Horton and Richard Wohl in 1956.This episode is drawn from two articles I wrote on this subject over on my Substack. Subscribe for more!

  • Why I Left Instagram: Part One - My Story
Welcome to season four of the She Wolfe Podcast! There seems to be a bit of an Instagram exodus happening lately - and I'm part of it. I've written about this at length on my Substack, but haven't yet shared my story about why I reached the conclusion of not wanting to partake in that platform any longer. Today's episode is my wild tale - the rise and fall of an 'influencer.' I really do despise that word, but here we are.Part two will be coming soon! Stay tuned and thanks for listening.

  • The Artist's Delusion
Artists need to be delusional in order to keep going through the treacherous and enduring challenges we face. This is a sacred calling and no matter how beaten up by it we are, true artists always find their way back to creativity. This episode is about peeling away the many layers of the onion of what it's like to be an artist in this modern world and how sweet delusion plays an integral role in our fortitude. This episode is also a promotion of my Kickstarter which has just launched in order to help save my small business from imminent closure. If you feel called to, please head on over to our campaign page to pledge + support! Thank you - and I love you!

  • The Undiagnosed Autistic Life: The Gifted Child To Burnt Out Adult Pipeline
Hello, friends. I made a post on IG about today’s topic a while back but wanted to expand upon it a little here. I’ll be diving more fully into all of this in my upcoming book - but the book is not in any kind of rush. I’m taking my time on it, which is a first for me - instead of going at the pace of my extreme hyperfocus, I’m allowing the natural ebbs and flows of my energy to move through me. This kind of book isn’t one you can pound out in a few months. So keep on the lookout, but don’t be waiting with bated breath. Ok? Ok. A few months ago I created a survey that covered lots of questions having to do with the general life arc of fellow autistics, especially late-diagnosed autistics. I received hundreds of responses and was fascinated - but not surprised - to learn that the majority of us experienced an arc that was essentially the same in many crucial ways. Of course the finer details will always be different because we’re dealing with individual life experience, but there was a basic framework - and in today’s episode I’ll be outlining that framework.

  • The Nature Of Awakening
What does it mean to have an awakening? What does life look and feel like during and after such an experience? How can we navigate the shock, dark night of the soul, and deep discomfort of being spiritually blown wide open? This and more is the exploration in today's topic. If you enjoy this podcast, please consider becoming a paid subscriber to my Substack. It's called Fey Creaturehood and it is where I do all of my long-form writing on subjects such as neurodivergence, spirituality, navigating the modern world, shadow work, politics and a wide variety of others. It's only 5.00 a month and goes a long way in helping to support me as an artist and writer. You can also find all of my bestselling tarot and oracle decks, as well as e-books, here! The background for episode artwork is by Gilbert Williams.
