In this episode we’ve got some really exciting news to share with you. After teasing this for what feels like forever, we can finally tell you that we’ve written a book! It’s called Couplepause and it’s coming out this November.
We wrote it because we talk so much about menopause, andropause and midlife, but one of the things that often gets overlooked is what happens to our relationships during this season of life. We’re navigating changing hormones, stress, shifting identities, intimacy and all the pressures that midlife throws at us, often without really understanding what’s going on.
We wanted to give couples practical tools to help them understand each other better, communicate more effectively and, hopefully, come out the other side feeling closer than ever.
So today, we’re going to tell you a little more about the book, why we wrote it, what’s inside, and what else we’ve got planned for Couplepause. Because this is about so much more than a book. It’s about helping couples realise that midlife doesn’t have to mean growing apart. It can be an opportunity to reconnect and have an amazing future together.

Do you ever feel like you’re in a constant battle with time? Always trying to find more of it and always falling short?
If this sounds familiar, we’d encourage you to keep your mind open as you listen to this episode, and consider that the problem might not be time, but our relationship with it.
This week we’re joined by Lissa Figgins, a scaling strategist and podcast host from the US, to talk about time from a Christian perspective — and the difference between managing our time and actually stewarding it.
We talk about why modern life has left so many of us feeling constantly behind, the impact of technology, and why asking ‘what is it time for?’ might be a much better question than ‘how do I fit everything in?
This is a really thought-provoking conversation, so let’s get into it.

IG: @midlifementors What A Hostage Negotiator Can Teach Us About Communication: Interview With Nicky Perfect
26/09/2026 | 44 mins.Send us Fan Mail
What can a hostage negotiator teach us about having better conversations?
Quite a lot, it turns out. Today we're joined by Nicky Perfect, a former police hostage and crisis negotiator who spent years working with the police and UK government in some incredibly challenging situations - including kidnappings, terrorist incidents and major crises.
She went on to become Director of UK Training for hostage and crisis negotiation, teaching police officers, military personnel and other professionals how to communicate in high-pressure situations.
In this episode we talk to Nicky about conflict, communication, listening, relationships and why sometimes the most important thing you can do in a difficult conversation is not to talk at all.
Because as Nicky says, connection comes before direction.
So, whether you’re in a relationship, managing a difficult conversation at work, or simply trying to communicate better with the people you care about, there’s a lot in this conversation for you.

This week we're diving into some of the latest issues affecting our nation - from a new study questioning the booming menopause supplement industry, to whether the term ‘manopause’ is a helpful one.
We’ll also look at what whistleblowers have been saying about the rapid development of AI and of course, those extraordinary political donations to Reform.
But amongst all the noise, uncertainty and division, we’ll share why we believe there is also a growing sense of hope.

13/09/2026 | 36 mins.Send us Fan Mail
Have you ever wondered why, in your 40s or 50s, you suddenly don't seem to cope with the stress the way you used to? Is it just getting older, is it hormones, or is it something much deeper happening inside your nervous system?
In this episode, we're joined by medical biochemist, central nervous system expert, and founder of Sona, Jane Ollis, to unpack the science. We explore why stress isn't actually the enemy, why recovery is becoming one of the most important health habits in midlife, what heart rate variability can tell us about our resilience, and the simple, evidence-based strategies that can help you feel calmer, healthier, and more in control.
So whether you're feeling burnt out, or simply want to perform at your best for the decades ahead, this episode is for you.
