Dr David Coleman is a practising Clinical Psychologist and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Psychology in UCD. With decades of experience helping children, teenagers and families with issues such as anxiety, emotional regulation, behaviour and relationships, his work focuses on building resilience, empathy, connection and understanding within families.
His new book, Fear Less: The Ten-Step Guide to Helping Kids Take Charge of Anxiety is out now.
In the book, he draws on his decades of experience and uses case studies to show how to spot anxiety triggers and patterns, soothe and support the child, and build resilience and self-belief.
In this episode he talks to Stef about how we can deal with anxiety and help children with practical solutions. They also chat about the use of smart phones and how these devices can exacerbate these feelings.
