The ASCN UK "Beyond the Bag: Challenging Differences in Stoma Care" podcast explores the entire patient journey, from diagnosis and surgery to discharge home, and extends to look at life with a stoma. The podcast will also explore the psychological adaptation to life with a stoma.
In this series, we aim to highlight and educate on the inequalities and variations in stoma care services compared to other chronic long-term conditions. We will discuss the issue of unwarranted disparities in care and raise awareness about what exemplary stoma care services should look like.
Our goal is to engage stoma care teams across the UK to address these variations, and to demonstrate the value, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of quality stoma care services.
