- 🎧 Welcome to the Big Anime Tangent! 🍥🌙✨
In Part 1 of this two-part mini-series, Natalie and Zori take a trip down anime memory lane and revisit some of the shows that have stuck with them throughout different stages of their lives. From childhood favorites and nostalgic classics to shows they discovered later on, they reflect on the stories, characters, and moments that helped shape their interests, and maybe even a little bit of who they are.
What makes certain anime stay with us for years? Why do we reconnect with some shows as adults and suddenly see them completely differently? And how did the anime we watched growing up influence the media we love today?
As always, expect plenty of nostalgia, strong opinions, many tangents (to the point we had to split this episode into two), and probably a few "OMG, I forgot about that show!" moments.
And this is only Part 1. There's plenty more anime to discuss!

Contact us at therapyonatangentpod@gmail.com Ep. 20 | It's Giving "Chaotic Co-Op": What Gaming Groups Teach Us About Relationships (Feat. Dr. Breon Rose)
27/07/2026 | 1h 26 mins.In this episode of Therapy on a Tangent, Natalie and Zori are joined once again by special guest and fellow gamer, Dr. Breon Rose, to explore what multiplayer games can teach us about relationships, communication, and teamwork. Together, they discuss how gaming with others often reflects the ways we navigate friendships, solve problems, handle conflict, and build trust both in and outside of the game.
From MMORPG raids to couch co-op video games and Discord chat shenanigans, the trio unpacks why some groups seem to click effortlessly while others... well... wipe out before the first boss. Along the way, they share stories from their own gaming experiences, laugh about the beautifully chaotic moments that happen when loved ones play together, and reflect on why finding the right gaming group can feel a lot like finding your chosen family.
So grab your headset, queue up with your party, and join us for an episode full of teamwork, tangents, and just the right amount of friendly chaos.

Contact us at therapyonatangentpod@gmail.com- In this special episode of Therapy on a Tangent, Natalie and Zori trade deep media analysis for something a little more relaxed: playing Stardew Valley together and seeing what happens.
"The Beach Episode: No Plot, Just Vibes" is exactly what it sounds like! As we tend our crops, wander off on questionable side quests, and inevitably analyze ourselves along the way, we reflect on how our different play styles mirror our real-life friendship and relationship dynamics. Turns out, what happens on the farm doesn't stay on the farm...
This is also a bit of a different episode for us because we're actually playing the game while we record! No major plot. No heavy discourse. Just two therapists, one farm, and immaculate beach episode energy. ☀️✨

Contact us at therapyonatangentpod@gmail.com - In this episode of Therapy on a Tangent, Natalie and Zori dive into the double-edged sword of modern technology. From instant access to information, entertainment, and connection, tech has made life more convenient than ever...but at what cost?
Together, they explore how the constant availability of quick rewards and instant gratification can affect attention, patience, and cognitive development, especially among youth growing up in a fully digital world. Zori and Natalie unpack how our brains adapt to “always-on” stimulation, what that means for emotional regulation and focus, and why learning to tolerate waiting and discomfort still matters.
This episode isn’t anti-technology. This episode highlights the need for balance. Join us as we talk about how to mindfully engage with tech while protecting our mental health in a world that rarely asks us to slow down. 📱🧠✨

Contact us at therapyonatangentpod@gmail.com - In Part 2 of our Studio Ghibli mini-series, Natalie and Zori explore the deeper themes woven throughout many Ghibli films—rest, burnout, girlhood, and caring for the world around us. From quiet moments of pause to stories of young girls navigating complex worlds, these films offer a powerful reminder that softness, curiosity, and connection can be forms of strength.
Together, they reflect on how Ghibli stories model a different way of living: one that values slowing down, caring for nature, honoring emotions, and resisting the pressure to constantly produce. Natalie and Zori discuss how these themes show up in films like My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke, and why these messages resonate even more in today’s burnout-heavy world.
