- Radical acceptance is a powerful tool that can help ease anxiety and stress. Drawing upon the Buddhist belief that attachment/desire causes suffering, radical acceptance allows us to see things as they truly are and then work from there to make any desired changes.
This episode references Tara Brach’s work including her book Radical Acceptance.

These types of grief are very common among those who are neurodivergent, queer, chronically ill, or disabled. Listen to find out what they are and how changing the conversation around grief can help.

Now that I’m starting to feel better, I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with food and how it’s completely tangled with my neurodivergent brain. That’s led me to restrict my food intake, follow rigid rules, and have a lot of shame around eating and to some extent that has continued after I was diagnosed as neurodivergent.
This episode works to break down the intersection between executive function, wanting vs. needing to change your food intake, how that is impacted by being neurodivergent, and where grief comes into play.
I talk about my alpha gal, but imagine a lot of what I’m discussing works with those who deal with food intolerance and allergies.

Since talking about the diagnosis with some individuals, one of the questions that comes up is: What purpose do ticks serve anyway? Aren’t they just parasites?
That’s an important question, but also a dangerous one. Since it’s disability pride month, I thought I’d talk about what “useless” really means, what role ticks play in the environment, how this connects with Wild Spirit Storytelling, and what Alpha Gal has to do with it and with disability and our definition of it.
We’re diving into the deep end. Put your favorite non-mammal seasonings on your popcorn and let’s get started.

I laughed. A lot. And then I got angry and had to blog about it. You’re in luck. This is that blog.
I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on the topic and encourage you to think about what manifesting means to you, what you think about it, and maybe why the reasons that could be. Just remember, you’re not broken. You’re not “made wrong”, and they put their pants on one leg at a time just like you do, I bet. (And if you can jump into both legs at once, that’s awesome!)
