EP 430 Nervous System Dysregulation: The Missing Piece In Perimenopause with Adele Wimsett.

    14/07/2026 | 55 mins.
Could your perimenopause symptoms be caused by more than just hormones? In this episode, I sit down once again with Adele Winsett for a powerful conversation about one of the most overlooked aspects of women's health: nervous system dysregulation.
We explore how nervous system dysregulation, chronic stress, and adrenal health may contribute to fatigue, anxiety, burnout, and other common perimenopause symptoms.
While much of the conversation around perimenopause focuses on declining hormones and hormone replacement therapy, many women are also living in a constant state of chronic stress. Over time, this can overwhelm the nervous system, reduce resilience, and leave you feeling exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or simply "stuck."

Together, we explore why supporting the nervous system is just as important as supporting hormones, and why healing often requires looking at the whole picture.
    In this episode, we discuss:
    • Why hormones aren't the whole story in perimenopause
    • What nervous system dysregulation is and why it matters
    • The difference between fight, flight and freeze
    • How chronic stress and adrenal burden can affect how you feel
    • Common symptoms women experience when the nervous system becomes overwhelmed
    • Why resilience changes as we age
    • The pressures of modern life and how they impact women's health
    • The role of oxytocin, pleasure, connection and joy in supporting nervous system health
    • Why some women become less tolerant of additional stressors during perimenopause
    • Adaptogens and lifestyle strategies that may help support recovery
    • My own personal experience navigating grief, loss and nervous system healing

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, emotionally flat, anxious, exhausted or like you've lost yourself, I hope this conversation reminds you that your body isn't working against you—it's asking for support.

✨ Healing isn't just about balancing hormones. It's about helping your body feel safe again.

EP429 Cancer PT.4: The Celluverse, Breast Cancer Causes, Metabolism, & Treatment with Alannah Connealy.

    02/07/2026 | 59 mins.
In Part 4 of my Cancer Series, I sit down with Alannah Connealy, author of The Celluverse, for a thought-provoking conversation about breast cancer, metabolism, chronic stress, trauma, hormones, and the body’s remarkable ability to adapt and heal.
We explore why cancer is rarely the result of a single cause and instead discuss the many factors that may contribute to disease over time, including metabolic dysfunction, inflammation, chronic stress, hormonal health, nutrition, environmental influences, and lifestyle.
One of the most powerful parts of our discussion examines the relationship between major life stressors and breast cancer. We explore why many women report experiencing significant emotional trauma before a diagnosis and discuss the biological effects that chronic stress may have on metabolism, immune function, and overall health.
    We also dive into:
    • Breast cancer and metabolic health
    • The role of chronic stress and inflammation
    • Hormones, excess estrogen, and the body’s internal environments influence on cancer
    • Water therapy, hot baths vs. cold, and why warmth may be more healing supportive
    • Sunlight, vitamin D, and UV exposure
    • Integrative cancer therapies, including mistletoe therapy
    • Conventional and complementary approaches to supporting health
    • Insights from Alannah’s book The Celluverse
    • The surprising parallels between The Celluverse and Susan Sontag’s Illness as a Metaphor
    And LOTS more.

Whether you’re navigating a cancer diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or simply interested in understanding the science behind health and disease, this conversation offers a thoughtful exploration of topics that are often overlooked. "Disease doesn't come out of thin air."

EP 427 Your Thyroid Questions Answered | RT3, Hashimotos, T3 Dosing & more with Paul Robinson.

    03/06/2026 | 1h 2 mins.
In today’s podcast episode, I’m joined once again by thyroid expert and author Paul Robinson for a listener-led thyroid Q&A session. After our first thyroid conversation was so well received, I invited members from my Facebook community to submit their biggest thyroid-related questions, and we covered a wide range of topics surrounding hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, T3 therapy, reverse T3, thyroid labs, symptoms, body temperature, hormone balance, and more.
Some of the questions discussed in this episode include:
    • Is reverse T3 testing important?
    • How low is too low for TSH?
    • Why do some people with Hashimoto’s struggle to convert T4 into T3?
    • What do high thyroglobulin and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies mean?
    • How can you support better T4 to T3 conversion?
    • Why do some people worsen on natural desiccated thyroid?
    • Can T3 dosing schedules change as healing occurs?
    • Can BHRT change thyroid medication needs?
    • Is there a connection between hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s, and migraines?
    • Can you still have hypothyroid symptoms with a “normal” body temperature?
    • What markers can help identify reverse T3 issues when testing is unavailable?
    • How can symptoms, pulse, blood pressure, and temperature help guide T3 dosing?
This conversation is educational, nuanced, and filled with practical insights for those navigating thyroid symptoms and thyroid treatment.

Paul Robinson is the author of:
    • The Thyroid Patient’s Manual
    • Recovering with T3
    • The CT3M Handbook

Whether you are newly diagnosed, struggling despite “normal labs,” or wanting a deeper understanding of thyroid physiology and treatment approaches, I hope this conversation helps you feel more informed and empowered.

Paul Robinson is a thyroid patient and thyroid patient advocate. Paul wrote 'The CT3M Handbook' as a companion book to 'Recovering with T3' to explain more about raising cortisol levels if needed. And Paul wrote his third book ‘The Thyroid Patient’s Manual’. This book covers all types of thyroid medications (T4, T4/T3, NDT, and T3). His newest book "Articles on Hypothyroidism" combines the best of what Paul has discovered on his 35 year thyroid journey.

EP 426 Navigating Grief and Healing | A Conversation with Carole Murko.

    18/05/2026 | 49 mins.
In this episode, Carole Murko and I have an honest conversation about grief, healing, loss, heartache, and the different ways people process pain. We discuss navigating grief after loss, learning to cope with difficult emotions, and why healing looks different for everyone.
I share my experience with grief and why silence felt overwhelming during my healing journey — how music, conversation, and constant connection helped me cope during one of the hardest seasons of my life. Carole shares her perspective while navigating her husband’s cancer diagnosis and her mother’s illness, and how silence, presence, and reflection have helped her process grief in a different way.
    In this conversation, we discuss:
    How people process grief differently
Coping with grief and emotional pain
    Healing after loss and heartbreak
The connection between grief and love
Learning to be present during difficult seasons
    Mental and emotional healing
Finding comfort through connection, silence, or reflection
Grief has no timeline and no single “right way” to heal. Whether you need noise, silence, people, prayer, music, or space - healing is so deeply personal.
If you are navigating grief, loss, heartbreak, or emotional pain, we hope this conversation helps you feel seen and understood. Please reach out if you need some support xo

Carole Murko is a consultant for Dr Joe Dispenza's company Neuro Change Solutions, a Qigong instructor, herbalist, and nutrition coach. As the founder of Love.Eat.Heal, Carole champions the belief that true healing begins with self-love, conscious eating, and wellness practices such as breathwork, meditation, and journaling.
