    In this episode, Kim talks with human design reader and Reflector, Leanne Plummer, founder of Magick of Your Design. Leanne shares her unusual childhood travelling Australia in a caravan, her love of crystals and geology and how burnout and self inquiry eventually led her to human design. At the heart of it all, Leanne shares how human design has become a roadmap back to herself. Helping her honour her need for space, understand why friendships and socialising have always felt different for her and release the story that she was “wrong” or “broken.” Leanne explains the five human design types in simple terms, how knowing your chart can transform self-love, relationships and parenting, and why our “shadows” are actually guidance, not flaws. Below is a link to a discounted session ($75) Human Design Introduction – Self Love Special Quotes: I went to about 13 primary schools, so I was always on the road and never really felt like I made any friends or formed any real relationships in my life. That is something I carried through. I studied geology which started my love for crystals. If you lose a crystal, you are done with it. You don’t need it anymore and it doesn’t need you anymore. Hopefully someone else picks it up who needs it. I am a firm believer that things come into your life for a reason and things leave your life for a reason. I have always had a real strong sense of direction. I believe the lifestyle created that persona, and I’ve hung onto it. It has been a story of mine. I have started to let people see me. I have let them in on who I am a little bit more recently. I am a big daydreamer. I used to just daydream all the time about all sorts of stuff. I was looking for myself. Who am I? Where do I fit in this whole scheme of things?” Life’s an experiment. We are always going to keep coming across the same things, but we respond to them differently. I looked up human design and I am a reflector. The other types are generators, manifesting generators, manifestors and projectors. Discovering human design didn’t suddenly fix everything, but it gave me rabbit holes to explore on how I could lift my vibration and lift myself up. You can do the same program again and again, but you will see it differently each time because you have healed or worked on something in between. With human design, I will be forever learning more and more. I don’t think you can ever know every single aspect of it. I try to listen to different people so I am not just getting one person’s perspective on human design. I am now forming my own. I have called my work ‘The Magick of Your Design,’ because I believe that is where the magic happens – when you bring it all together and see how beautifully unique you are. Just because you have a certain gate doesn’t mean everyone with that gate will have the same interests. It is what you bring to it that makes it your superpower. Human design isn’t about making anyone wrong. It is about understanding how you are wired so you stop beating yourself up for being who you are. When a shadow shows up, it is just your warning system that you are out of alignment right now. It is not the truth of who you are. You need to learn to love your shadows. Don’t hate on them. They are simply indicators that it is time to recenter yourself. Even just knowing someones type and energy can really help you understand how to approach them and why they work the way they do. Generators and manifesting generators, if they are doing something that brings them joy they will go all day. But the other three types, once they are done, they are done. As a Reflector, people tend to see themselves in us. We mirror them back, and sometimes if they don’t like us, it is because they don’t like something in themselves. Sometimes I get really bubbly and excited in someone’s aura and then they leave and I think, ‘Oh, that wasn’t me – who was that?” We evolve all the time; every day we change. Self love is being okay with that. Life needs to be an experiment. Try something! If it doesn’t work, try it differently, pivot, go left instead of right, just keep moving forward.     In this week’s quicky Kim focuses on understanding sympathetic dominance, a state of constant nervous system activation that can be triggered by modern activities and leads to various physical symptoms and chronic stress. Kim discussed the functions of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, emphasising the importance of balance and highlighting how prolonged sympathetic dominance can negatively impact overall health. Kim discusses simple, powerful practices to shift back into your parasympathetic nervous system to the place where your body rests, digests, heals and reconnects with joy. From breathwork and aromatherapy to gentle movement, nourishment, boundaries, and rituals, these tools help you re-teach your body what safety feels like. The constant ‘on’ mode where your nervous system believes you are in danger even when you are doing little things like checking texts or emails. Our nervous system has two main branches, the sympathetic and parasympathetic. Your sympathetic nervous system is your fight, flight, or freeze mode. Your parasympathetic system is your rest, digest and heal mode where your body restores, digests food, balance hormones and allows you to sleep more deeply. Science shows that prolonged activation of the stress responses raises inflammation, impacts, blood sugar control and alters our gut brain axis. This is why self care is so important and isn’t indulgent. It is vital for nervous system repair. Slow, diaphragmatic breathing is the fastest way to turn off the stress response. I went to boarding school at aged 12 and had to create a real sense of independence. I found it a challenging experience. I developed a love of art. I knew I wanted to pursue art and see the world. I encouraged my husband to study chiropractic. We both resonated with it and wanted to incorporate vitalistic health in our lives. The vitalistic framework always felt natural to me. It is that master control system. We want optimum function which allows you to access both pathways. With a regulated nervous system, you can be your best self creatively, socially and think clearly. Stresses are always going to be there, we have chemical, physical and emotional stresses. Chiropractic takes tension out of the spine and out of the nervous system, if the pathways are clear your body is regulated and there is freedom of expression. We work with the body to enable self expression and self regulation. The cracking sound is due to gases in the joints and adjustments can still be effective without sound. We are feeling through the fine layers, knowing what to feel and feeling for change. Stillness and breathwork is an amazing tool Practising stillness can be more powerful than active movement. Focus on breath and sitting in stillness can be great in helping to regulate. Running in nature, in that landscape was so magical. I do love variety in my life. Self love spreads out to those I love. Making sure my boys are ok is nourishing me. An extension of self love is making sure they are ok and fulfilling their dreams. Life is short. Make the most of every moment and opportunity. I always encouraged my kids to have crazy adventures. I am a country girl but love the powerful atmosphere of the city. Being a lawyer got to the point it wasn’t fun anymore even though I loved helping clients. It was a job that didn’t align with my ethics and values anymore. Links to the land run very deep. It is more than just a place to work. You need to look after the land as it is your long term asset. Coming home to living full time on the farm gave me a chance to heal myself as well as allow my land to heal itself. I work with nature from a subtle energy level through to what is physically is in front of us. There is a whole world under the ground. Nothing is on earth by mistake. My job is to make everyday a good day for my cows. I try and wrap them up with energy of love, calmness, serenity, purpose and gratitude. I have always been guided by my gut. Land vibrates masses amounts of energy. Big trees are like centenarians, our guides. The knowledge in a tree is phenomenal. Horses are very intuitive. Their souls connect to ours so easily. We wouldn’t be who we are without horses. Since civilisation they have been our teammates. Mother Nature is both the greatest blessing and sometimes the harsh parent teaching us lessons. My isolation came from being lawyer than living in the country. Everyone is different and your differences are beautiful. Farmers do the hard things every single day. They have no time off. You can’t let the crisis get you. This too shall pass. It’s a slow march.
