- In this beautiful episode of Self Love Podcast, Kim is joined by broadcaster, author and storyteller Sheridan Stewart to explore her deeply personal journey to self-love and self-worth in midlife. Sheridan opens up about moving from a life and career largely defined by what she did and achieved, to discovering who she is beyond her career. She shares her experiences of burnout and the emotional impact of broadcasting through incredibly challenging times, including Black Summer and COVID, and the lessons she learned about boundaries, knowing when to press pause and giving herself permission to choose a life centred around meaning, connection and contentment.
Sheridan also shares the story behind her book I Am Enough and the 90-day challenge that grew from her own journey of reflection and change. Together, Kim and Sheridan explore why knowing we are enough and feeling enough can be two very different things, and how small, intentional actions can help us create more joy, self-compassion and contentment.
This is a powerful conversation about recognising that it is never too late to change direction, redefine success and rediscover yourself. Sheridan encourages us to stop waiting for life to change before taking action and instead begin making small choices that help create the way we want to feel. A heartfelt reminder that self-love isn’t about becoming someone different, it is about coming home to who you already are and knowing, truly, I am enough.
About Sheridan:
Sheridan Stewart is an author, broadcaster and speaker who, for more than 3o years, has been telling stories that invite us to feel a little more hopeful, a little more connected, and a little more at home in our own lives.
With warmth, curiosity and humour, Sheridan creates conversations and stories that help people feel seen, think differently, laugh often, and reconnect with what matters most.
Before joining the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in 2014, Sheridan was a popular Triple M presenter, music journalist and comedy host/producer. Today she can be heard on ABC Radio Queensland (Sunshine Coast), exploring the ideas, issues and everyday moments that shape our lives and strengthen our sense of community. Away from the microphone, you’ll usually find her writing, swimming, or dreaming up her next creative project.
Sheridan’s first non-fiction book, I Am Enough: A 90-Day Challenge to Find Contentment, was published in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the US in 2023. Her fiction has also appeared in the Chicago Quarterly Review.
Inspired by her own journey from burnout to contentment, Sheridan created The Joy Club, where she helps people cultivate more joy, purpose and contentment through practical, encouraging online programs, including 21% More Joy in 21 Days, Make Your Dreams Real… in a Way That Actually Works!, and the I Am Enough: A 90-Day Challenge Program. Through each program, she invites people to take small, intentional steps towards a life of greater joy, purpose and contentment.
Her definition of Self Love is: The ability to press pause and know what is enough.
Her favourite quote is from: Danielle LaPorte “What will I do to feel the way I want to feel?”

Quotes:
I am a midlife woman who has rediscovered what self-love means.
We have all this life experience. We lived, we have suffered, we have had joy, we have had loss.
We still have enough time to make a difference in the world.
What I have learned about myself is that drive, coupled with the wrong circumstances, can go into overdrive, and can lead to burnout.
We can now just press pause and learn to love ourselves a little bit more.
There is time, and this thing about having to get it all done by Tuesday, last Tuesday, eventually will catch up with you.
There is always the chance to pick up the threads and go, what does success look like to me now?
It will look different at different ages and different stages of life.
Everybody, even the most introvert of us need love, we need connection.
I can really value people who are different to me.
I realised what had gone missing in all of this intensely, meaningful, purposeful, ambition, driven life, the fun had gone missing.
Being able to nurture other people, to hold space for other people, is such a valuable skill.
Every word I said would impact someone in some way.
The ability to press pause and know what is enough.
I am enough. I have enough. I do enough.
That was a game changing moment for me.
I often believe the keys to what we need to hear are in our complaints.
It was about pressing pause long enough to see what emerges when we pause a behaviour.
Where we get our meaning and sense of purpose is challenging ourselves.
Balance that with joy. Balance that with bringing something in that nourishes you, nurtures you, or brings you joy.
When you pause a behaviour, particularly anything that is self-soothing, what emerges is fascinating.
We rarely get through a challenge without slipping up.
I am insisting on living my best life.
It is not too late. Not too old. Pick a day and make it count.

Many thanks to Wes and Charlotte Carr – https://wesleydeanmusic.com/ - In this Self Love Podcast Quicky, Kim shines a light on the powerful impact we can have on small business owners simply by showing a little support and kindness. Supporting small business isn’t always about spending money, a like, comment, share, Google review, recommendation to a friend or encouraging message can mean so much to someone who is pouring their time, energy, passion and personal resources into making their business work. Kim explores why encouragement can have such a positive effect on our wellbeing and invites us to choose one small business this week and do something unexpected to support them. One small act of kindness can create a ripple effect, lifting someone’s day, their motivation and their business, while helping build a stronger, more connected community.

Quotes:
It is those tiny little actions that can completely change someone’s day.
Every notification that says, someone shared your post, or someone left a 5 star review , feels like someone is standing right beside you saying, I see you. I believe in what you are doing.
Your kind words don’t just make someone smile. They literally fuel their ability to keep showing up.
It costs nothing. But it means everything.
When good people succeed, communities become stronger, dreams become possible, Families are supported, and someone behind that business will wake up tomorrow believing they can keep going.
Be the surprise in someone’s day. Be the unexpected encouragement, be the reason they do not give up.
Kindness, just like love is contagious.
One of the greatest ways we could practice self-love is by recognising that we rise even higher when we lift someone else.
Every little act of kindness creates a ripple effect.

MUSIC INTRO & OUTRO
Many thanks to Wes and Charlotte Carr – https://wesleydeanmusic.com/ - In this episode of The Self Love Podcast, Kim speaks with Sunshine Coast entrepreneur, wife, mum of two and co-founder of wholefood brands Luvarlee and Gutful, Eliza Joy Wellington.
Eliza shares the honest and inspiring story behind building a life and businesses alongside her partner Mikey from becoming parents young and navigating financial challenges, to moving across the world, surviving the uncertainty of COVID and eventually building successful food businesses from the ground up. She opens up about the seasons that tested them, the importance of having a supportive partner, learning to adapt, and why following your passion doesn’t always mean taking the traditional path. Eliza also shares the lessons she has learned about authenticity, business, social media, money and the importance of being willing to back yourself.
At the heart of this conversation is a beautiful exploration of self-love, motherhood and personal growth. Eliza shares her powerful definition of self-love and encourages women to become their own biggest cheerleaders rather than letting self-doubt or fear hold them back. She reflects on the mentors and coaches who have supported her journey, being named a finalist in the Sunshine Coast Businesswoman Awards, and the values she hopes to pass on to her children. This is a heartfelt conversation about resilience, optimism, authenticity and creating a life that feels true to you.
About Eliza:
Eliza Joy Wellington is a Sunshine Coast based entrepreneur, mother of two and co-founder of two wholefood brands, Luvarlee and Gutful. Alongside her fiancé Mikey, she has spent the last six years building businesses from the ground up, completely bootstrapped, without loans or investors, driven entirely by a passion for real food, family and living in alignment with her values.
Eliza’s journey has been anything but linear. From working airport ground crew, to living in Bali, closing a thriving restaurant overnight due to COVID, returning home with a toddler, a baby on the way and nothing in her pocket, and rebuilding from scratch, she knows firsthand what it means to start over, back yourself and keep going anyway.
Today Luvarlee is a trusted wholefood brand, stocked in health food retailers across South East Queensland and loved by thousands of families. As the business continues to grow, Eliza and Mikey are expanding into their own commercial kitchen, a milestone that felt impossible not so long ago. Gutful came next, born from Eliza’s own experience as a mum navigating fussy eaters and desperately wanting a simple, clean way to get more goodness into her kids every single day.
Eliza is a passionate advocate for women backing themselves, finding joy in the everyday and building lives that feel genuinely aligned with who they are. She is currently a finalist for the 2026 Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year award.
Her definition of Self Love is: It is honouring to me. It is honouring where you are at while still believing what is possible. It is speaking to yourself with kindness, resting when you need to, backing yourself to grow, recognising that acceptance and growth can exist together.
I think it is okay to desire more for yourself and that is an act of self-love as well. Wanting more whilst also appreciating exactly where you are at.
Her favourite quote is: What you are not changing, you are choosing.

Quotes:
I never let fear of failure or fear of judgement or a lack of qualifications hold me back from just giving things a go.
I just love to live life to the fullest and have fun along the way.
We made a conscious decision never to let parenthood slow us down or stop us from living a jam packed fun life.
I think it’s so important to have a partner who is your ride or die and who is there to support you.
Having that person who is just there for you 100% makes business possible, makes parenthood possible, makes a beautiful life possible.
He brings out the best in me and he teaches me to be optimistic and look on the bright side.
She has taught me to slow down and just enjoy every moment.
I think there are seasons of hustle and there are seasons of slowing down.
It is challenging. It is a juggle having young kids and running businesses.
We have been through the hard yards now and we are reaping the rewards now.
I am so glad that we went through those tough times because it makes the good times even sweeter.
Network marketing taught me social skills, sales psychology, leadership skills, public speaking, confidence, and social media skills.
People love authenticity. They can sense when you are being untruthful.
Everything that we claim to be, we are, and I think customers know who Mikey and I are. We are truthful, honest real people.
I think being around the kids and having fun with them is our outlet. It helps us fill up our cup and feel good again after a busy, stressful day.
I have realised that we are perfect for each other. We challenge each other, we back each other, we support each other. We value each other. We bring out the best in each other.
We should be cheering ourselves on and celebrating our wins and speaking to ourselves like the boss babes that we are.
We are all limitless beings. We are all capable of way more than we give ourselves credit for.
Go after whatever it is that you want and back yourself and don’t give up and love every minute of it.
Love the journey.

Many thanks to Wes and Charlotte Carr – https://wesleydeanmusic.com/ - In this weeks quicky of the Self Love Podcast, Kim explores the beautiful concept of Coming Home to Oneself, returning to the authentic, wholehearted version of you that can become hidden beneath life’s expectations, challenges and conditioning. She shares how true self-love is not about becoming someone new but gently remembering who you have always been by living in alignment with your values, thoughts and actions. Through simple yet powerful practices such as conscious breathing, connecting with nature, using essential oils and tuning into the wisdom of your heart, Kim offers a compassionate invitation to find greater inner peace, coherence and connection. This episode is a gentle reminder that home isn’t a place you need to find, it is a feeling you can always return to within yourself.

Quotes:
The deepest home we will ever know is the one within ourselves.
Coming home to yourself is simply remembering who you were before the world convinced you that you had to become some thing or someone else.
Coming home to yourself, literally means living in alignment.
It means your thoughts, your words, your actions, and your values all point in the same direction.
Stress often isn’t created by what’s happening around us. It is created by living out of alignment with ourselves.
Perhaps coming home isn’t travelling anywhere at all. Perhaps it is simply returning to coherence, returning to harmony, returning to your natural frequency.
We don’t force ourselves forward. We just invite ourselves to gently return, again, and again.
It is just asking for gentle remembrance.
What does my soul need?
The body, if we choose to pay attention, will always whisper before it screams.
To honour yourself is to treat yourself as though you are someone sacred, not perfect.
I truly believe self love isn’t about becoming more.
Self love is not a destination. It is the beautiful journey of coming home to yourself.
The longest journey you will ever take is the 18 inches from your head to your heart.

MUSIC INTRO & OUTRO
Many thanks to Wes and Charlotte Carr – https://wesleydeanmusic.com/ - In this heartfelt episode of the Self Love Podcast, Kim speaks with Rebecca Warke to explore the inspiration behind her powerful new book, Take a Hike. Written in the aftermath of heartbreak, the book chronicles Beck’s deeply personal journey from loss and self-abandonment to healing, self-discovery and coming home to herself. Together, they unpack the lessons hidden within life’s most challenging seasons, discussing attachment patterns, people pleasing, relationship dynamics and the unconscious beliefs formed in childhood that can shape the way we love and relate to others. Beck shares how what once felt like a complete breakdown ultimately became the breakthrough that transformed her life.
Throughout the conversation, Beck offers gentle yet practical wisdom for anyone navigating grief, change or the process of rebuilding themselves. She explains how small acts of self-care, learning to honour personal boundaries and keeping promises to yourself can create lasting transformation. Kim and Beck also explore parenting through difficult times, the importance of modelling resilience, and how self compassion becomes the foundation for true healing. Filled with hope, honesty and practical tools, this episode is a beautiful reminder that the hardest climbs often lead to the most breathtaking views, and that no matter where you are on your journey, it is always possible to find your way back to yourself.
About Rebecca
Rebecca Warke is an author, entrepreneur, adventurer, and single mother of two who is passionate about helping people navigate life’s biggest transitions with courage, honesty, and self-awareness.
Her debut book, Take A Hike, was born from one of the most transformative periods of her life. Through heartbreak, healing, self-discovery, and personal growth, Rebecca found herself asking the same questions many people face when life doesn’t go to plan: Who am I now? What am I meant to learn from this? And how do I find my way back to myself?
Drawing from her own lived experience, Rebecca writes with vulnerability and authenticity about love, loss, resilience, attachment, forgiveness, spirituality, and the journey of rebuilding a life that feels aligned and meaningful. Her work extends to in person workshops and group hikes to support and hold space for anyone navigating change, grief, or personal transformation.
When she’s not writing, Rebecca can be found exploring the outdoors, spending time with her children, playing AFL, in the gym, building business, chasing new adventures, and creating a life centred around freedom, connection, and meaningful experiences.
Her definition of Self Love is: Self love means to keep the promise you made yourself.
Her favourite quote is: The best views come after the hardest climbs.

Quotes:
Life did evolve, a relationship ended and I found myself in a space of feeling quite lost as to who I was.
I was overanalysing, overthinking, I was looping, I’m trying to fix something that can’t be fixed, make sense of something that no longer made sense.
The way for me to get those thoughts out was to write.
My intention was to bring some sanity back to myself.
It felt a little bit like a book I would like to read.
I couldn’t even get myself to do the things that make me feel like me.
I didn’t know who I was anymore.
It took many months to appreciate that it was a breakthrough.
These things happen for us to really come home to ourselves.
This experience has allowed that door to open for me to realise that it is a breakthrough, and it is an opportunity for me to really come home to me.
The book has been the way that I processed that and made that progress.
It is part memoir, reflection and self help.
It is designed to meet people where they are at on their journey, wherever that may be.
I have given myself full permission to prioritise myself.
I abandoned myself so many times and my ambitions and my desires.
It is like you become an observer rather than a participant.
We are following the map that was imprinted in us as children.
I was also operating from a space of safety and survival.
The maps can be redrawn.
Healing while you still have to parent, still have to show up for work, still have to put a roof over your kids’ head, still have to feed them, is the hardest thing that I have ever had to do.
When you start connecting with yourself and start seeing yourself and start loving yourself, you celebrate those things instead of putting yourself down.
I promised myself I would not lose myself in love again.
We are going to have challenging times. If we can navigate them, take one step in front of the other, the view at the top is bliss.
