Motivational Closing Keynote Speaker: What Corporate Clients and Association Organisers Should Look For

If you're an event organiser searching for a motivational closing keynote speaker, this is the video to send to your committee. Filmed at the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Conference Center ahead of his second appearance at the same tech conference, James Taylor breaks down what most organisers get wrong when they book a closing speaker — it's a different job to an opening keynote, and it needs a different process.

A Closing Keynote Is a Different Job to an Opening Keynote

Most booking conversations treat the opening and closing slots as the same product in two different time slots. They aren't. An opening keynote sets the tone and energy for an event. A closing keynote has to do something harder: make sense of everything the audience already sat through.

That distinction is the whole argument of this piece to camera, filmed at the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Conference Center in San Diego ahead of James Taylor's second appearance at the same tech conference. Booking the same speaker to close an event two years running is a useful signal in itself — it means the format worked on a room the organisers know well.

"The closing keynote speaker's role is quite different to an opening keynote speaker."

    — James Taylor

By the time a closing slot comes around, the room has absorbed days of content. It is tired, it is full, and it has heard a dozen or more competing ideas. A talk built for a fresh audience on day one — energy up, agenda set, expectations framed — does not land on that room. It has to be built for the moment it's actually delivered in, not adapted from an opening-keynote format.

The Preparation Starts Long Before the Stage

James's process for a closing keynote begins a day or two before he speaks. He arrives early and sits in on the sessions that come before his own — not a token appearance at one or two, but the prior programme as a whole. Across a multi-day conference, that can mean roughly 15 other speakers.

He then uses AI tools to synthesise the themes running across those sessions: what keeps recurring, where speakers agree, where they quietly contradict each other, and which threads the audience has been handed without anyone yet tying them together.

"Part of the role of the closing keynote speaker is to help the audience make sense of what they've heard over the past few days."

    — James Taylor

The distinction that matters here is between synthesising and summarising. A summary replays the agenda back to a room that already sat through it. A synthesis takes the threads of a multi-day conference and weaves them into one coherent narrative — with a point of view, and a big idea the audience did not arrive with.

Building the Close Around the Event Itself

A strong closing keynote pulls in real material from the event in the room. Photos taken during the conference. Video from the sessions. Callbacks to lines attendees actually heard from the stage two days earlier. That material is what turns a keynote into your keynote rather than a generic talk pulled off the shelf — and it is only available to a speaker who was in the building.

What the Audience Should Walk Out With

Inspiration on its own has a short half-life. The payoff for the audience should be concrete: one to three actionable steps they can take, or two to three key questions for leadership teams to discuss when they're back at their desks.

That's a deliberately small number. A room at the end of a multi-day event can hold a big idea and a short list — not a fourteen-point framework. The test of a close is what attendees can still repeat to a colleague on Monday morning.

    Why the Ending Matters Commercially

Closing on a high matters emotionally, but it also matters on the balance sheet. The final session is the last impression of the entire event — the note attendees carry out of the room and into their decision about next year.

"I am the very last person that they're going to hear from on that stage."

    — James Taylor

Organisers report that a strong close is what drives rebooking. That makes the closing slot one of the highest-leverage line items in an event budget, and it's why the selection process for a closing keynote speaker deserves more scrutiny than "who's available on the Thursday afternoon".

What Corporate Clients and Association Organisers Should Look For

If you're shortlisting a motivational closing keynote speaker, the questions worth asking are process questions, not topic questions:

Will they do the homework? Ask whether the speaker will arrive early and sit in on the sessions before their own, so the closing keynote reflects your actual event.

Will they synthesise, or summarise? Ask how they intend to bring the threads of the programme together into one narrative.

What does the audience leave with? Look for one to three concrete next steps, or the two to three questions leadership teams need to discuss back at the office.

Is the talk built for a tired room? A closing keynote has to work with an audience that has already absorbed days of content.

Will it make people want next year's event? The close is the last voice attendees hear, and a strong one is what drives rebooking.

    Key Takeaways

An opening keynote sets the tone and energy for an event. A closing keynote has to do something harder: make sense of everything the audience already sat through.

James's process starts before he ever takes the stage — arriving early, attending prior sessions, and using AI tools to synthesise themes across ~15 speakers.

A strong close pulls in real material from the event itself: photos, video and callbacks to what attendees actually heard, not a generic talk.

The payoff for the audience should be concrete: one to three actionable steps, or two to three key questions for leadership teams to discuss when they're back at their desks.

Closing on a high matters commercially as well as emotionally — it's the last impression of the whole event, and it's what gets organisers rebooking for next year.

    FAQ
Booking a Motivational Closing Keynote Speaker

How is a closing keynote different from an opening keynote?
An opening keynote sets the tone and energy for an event. A closing keynote has to do something harder: help the audience make sense of everything they have already sat through, and send them out with something to act on.

How does James prepare for a closing keynote?
He arrives a day or two early and sits in on the sessions before his own, then uses AI tools to synthesise the themes running across roughly 15 other speakers. Those threads are woven together with photos and video from the event itself.

What does the audience leave a closing keynote with?
A big idea, plus something concrete: one to three actionable next steps, or two to three key questions for leadership teams to discuss when they are back at their desks.

Why does the closing slot matter to organisers?
The close is the last impression of the whole event and the last voice attendees hear. Organisers report that a strong close is what drives attendees to rebook for next year.

Does James speak at events outside San Diego?
Yes. James works with corporate clients and associations globally and has delivered more than 3,000 events across 50+ countries. This video was filmed in San Diego, but he closes conferences worldwide.

How an AI Keynote Speaker Runs His Speaking Business on AI

On the Artificial Reality podcast, James Taylor breaks down how he runs his speaking business on Claude, why today's cheap AI is subsidised by venture capital, and how 1,000 people made a Taylor Swift reggae theme song with AI in about 15 minutes.

    50:46How to Book James Taylor

A keynote looks like the most human job there is: one person, one stage, one message. So where does AI fit? On the Artificial Reality podcast, host Galina Fendikevich asked James Taylor three questions — what's working, what's broken, and what still needs to be built — and his answers show how an AI keynote speaker actually uses the technology across sales, marketing, speech writing and live delivery.

James describes himself as the speaking business — one half creative, one half business — and he uses AI in both. He compares it to a musician and a guitar: the tool becomes part of who you are. He gives 50 to 100 keynotes a year in 25+ countries, and AI now touches almost every stage of that work.

An AI Chief of Staff Before Breakfast

Every morning, James wakes up to a report from an AI chief of staff — an agent his team built on Claude. It lists what's on the cards for the day, the questions he should be thinking about, the decisions he needs to make and the open loops still running.

The same agent prepares him for sales. Twenty-four hours before a discovery call, it sends a brief on the client, the event and the LinkedIn profiles of the people joining — plus a psychometric profile of each of them. If he's speaking with a CTO, he knows to lead with the data. It's still James having the conversation, he stresses; the AI just gives him more context. When clients share the attendee list in advance, he can build the same kind of profile for the whole audience — whether they want more humour, more traditional storytelling or more practical, what-to-do-on-Monday actions.

How James Gets Recommended by ChatGPT and Claude (GEO and AEO)

At the top of the funnel, James and his team build thousands of highly specific landing pages optimised for AI answer engines — what's now called GEO and AEO. Claude handles the initial research into what to rank for, Perplexity creates pages at scale, and Gemini runs quality assurance before a final tool publishes to the website and another tracks performance.

The result: ask a chatbot for the top keynote speaker on artificial intelligence in Amsterdam and the answer is probably James — in a city he has never lived in. It's a neat demonstration of how much answer engines lean on what's published, and why he likes using one model to quality-assure another.

The Story Bank That Drafts Every Keynote

Once a client books, AI generates the contracts and invoices. Then comes the part James calls the best of all: pre-event conversations with executives and prospective audience members. Those transcripts feed a Claude "story bank" holding every story, framework and quote he has used in presentations.

When he starts writing a keynote, the story bank pulls together what matters to that audience and that company, what success looks like for them, and the keynote structures he likes to use — and produces a first draft. From there, the human comes back in. For the slides he adds tools such as Higgsfield and Suno for music.

"So once again, the AI is not writing my keynote for me, but hopefully it's making me a better presenter of my ideas."

    — James Taylor, on Artificial Reality

After the event, he feeds the presentation, conversations, contracts and a voice note of his own reflections into a Claude skill that drafts the case study. The client's legal team approves it, ideally adds a quote, and it goes on the website.

1,000 People, One Taylor Swift Reggae Song

On stage, James mostly keeps AI in the background — with the occasional exception. At a recent event in Amsterdam with 1,000 people, he asked the room to create the conference's theme tune live. Using Mentimeter polling fed into an AI, the audience voted for Taylor Swift as the singer and reggae as the style, then supplied random industry words for the lyrics. Within about 15 minutes, the song was done. He then photographed an audience member in the front row and made him the hero of the pop video.

The serious point, he explains, is play. You don't need a coding or engineering background any more:

"You can have an idea and you can explain it in natural language and start to create things that are useful."

    — James Taylor, on Artificial Reality

    Why Cheap AI Won't Last

James isn't loyal to one tool. His team started with early versions of Gemini, used ChatGPT for mind mapping and ideation, then moved heavily into Claude because it let the team build things very quickly. His desk holds five computers running different AIs — he names them so he can remember which is which.

His biggest blocker is cost. Today's AI prices, he argues, are subsidised by venture capital, like early Uber, and rates will rise. His response is to match cheaper models to simpler tasks rather than use the most sophisticated model for everything. He also thinks US AI companies could face pressure if low-cost Chinese models come in at a tenth of the price.

Which Roles AI Replaced — and Which It Changed

James is candid: his team was bigger two years ago. The video editor role went, because AI tools can now take long-form video and handle the clipping. But a team member in customer service was retrained in SEO, AEO and GEO instead of being let go.

He contrasts two very different outcomes: a Swedish company that let 800 people go for AI and had to backpedal months later as customers left, and IKEA, which chose to reskill people rather than lay them off and built an entirely new virtual interior design business. For James, efficiency is only phase one.

"Now you're super efficient. Now what do you want to do? What do you want to create that doesn't even exist just now?"

    — James Taylor, on Artificial Reality

Problem Finding, Strategy Swarms and Virtual Masterminds

That creative phase is the heart of SuperCreativity. James distinguishes problem solving from problem finding — stepping back to ask whether you're chasing the right problem at all — and small-c creativity from big-C creativity that changes a whole field. He also points to "boundary crossers" who bring outside interests into their core expertise.

Two of his favourite applications build on that thinking. "Strategy swarms" create synthetic markets of customers, lobby groups and influencers to stress-test a launch before it happens. And his "virtual mastermind" — five or six figures such as Warren Buffett and Bruce Lee — debates his business ideas and returns a joint view. Used this way, he says, AI helps us stress-test and improve our ideas rather than making us complacent.

    Where AI Still Falls Short

Not everything works. James's team has tested cold outreach agents combining Lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Claude, and he isn't entirely happy with the results yet — partly for brand-risk reasons. AI avatar tools have the facial expressions nearly right, but the voice isn't there yet, so promo videos for clients still get filmed in his green-screen studio. He also flags that many models carry a Western bias, which is one more reason he uses several.

What James Wants Silicon Valley to Build

His wish list has two items. First, an AI presentation coach: he films every keynote and would love to hand the video to a tool that reviews it across 100 factors and spots patterns like filler words across talks. He points to Jensen Huang's earnings-call storytelling as proof of how much a well-structured narrative matters. Second, live translation, so audience members — most of whom, in his rooms, don't speak English as a first language — can ask questions in their native language.

He also believes AI will make live, in-person experiences — festivals, conferences, things you cannot fake — more important, not less.

    FAQ
    Frequently Asked Questions

How does a keynote speaker use AI?
James Taylor uses AI across his whole speaking business: an AI chief of staff built on Claude briefs him every morning and sends psychometric profiles before sales calls, a Claude story bank drafts the first version of each keynote, and a Claude skill drafts case studies after each event. The keynote itself is still written and delivered by James.

Does AI write James Taylor's keynotes?
No. His Claude story bank produces a first draft from his own stories, frameworks and quotes, plus what he learns in pre-event conversations. James then rewrites and nuances it himself. In his words, the AI is not writing his keynote, but it is making him a better presenter of his ideas.

    What are GEO and AEO?
GEO and AEO refer to optimising web pages so that AI answer engines such as ChatGPT and Claude recommend them. James's team builds thousands of highly specific landing pages for this, using Claude for research, Perplexity to create pages at scale and Gemini for quality checks.

Can James Taylor tailor a keynote to our audience?
Yes. Before each event James speaks with executives and prospective audience members, and when clients share the attendee list he uses AI to understand what matters to that audience, whether that means more humour, more storytelling or more practical actions.

    Does James Taylor speak internationally?
Yes. James Taylor has delivered 3,000+ events in 50+ countries and speaks to global audiences on creativity, artificial intelligence and innovation.

Paris Keynote Speaker James Taylor on AI Prediction Engines and Predicting the Future of Your Strategy

Filmed in Paris ahead of a session with senior leaders at one of the world's biggest AI companies, this is James Taylor at his most forward-looking: how AI prediction engines let you drop a strategy, policy or proposal into a simulated world of "synthetics" and see how the real people it affects are likely to respond.

Most AI keynotes cover the same ground. This one doesn't. Filmed in Paris just before a session with senior leaders at one of the world's biggest AI companies, this episode of SuperCollaboration introduces a tool most leadership teams haven't met yet: the AI prediction engine.

The brief for the session was specific. James had been asked to speak to a room of partner managers, the people who hold the relationships with the company's biggest clients, about where human-plus-AI collaboration is heading. Rather than repeat familiar AI talking points, he used the session to show them a new way to test an idea before it ever reaches the client.

Partner Managers: The Classic Boundary Crossers

Partner managers and senior enterprise sales roles are what James calls classic "boundary crossers". They carry high influence, often without direct authority. Their job depends on knowing the client's world as well as they know their own company's products, and on moving an idea across the line between the two organisations.

That makes them exactly the people who need to know, before a big proposal lands, who in the client organisation is likely to push back and who is likely to back it.

Force Field Analysis: The Traditional Way to Map Allies and Resistance

The classic tool for that job is force field analysis, the Lewin model. You map the forces driving a proposal forward against the forces resisting it, so you can plan how to strengthen one side and weaken the other before you walk into the room.

It works. But it is only as good as your own view of the stakeholders, and that view is always partial. That's where the next step comes in.

    What Are AI Prediction Engines?

AI prediction engines, tools like Miro Fish, take force field analysis further. Instead of mapping stakeholders on a whiteboard, you take your strategy, policy or proposal and run it through a simulation.

"With AI prediction engines... you drop it into a simulated world, and that simulated world has what we call synthetics."

    — James Taylor, Paris

Synthetics are AI agents built as digital twins of the real people, organisations or citizens your idea will affect. The simulation shows how they are likely to react, giving you a view of the reception your idea will get before you commit to it.

How Governments Are Already Using Synthetics Instead of Focus Groups

This isn't theoretical. Governments are already using prediction engines in place of traditional focus groups, testing policy against millions of synthetic citizens. The output is a probability of success, and the chance to refine the policy before it is ever made public.

In the episode, James also walks through a Dubai real estate example, where the same approach is used to model how the market and its stakeholders are likely to react.

Simulating Your Client's Stakeholders Before a Big Pitch

For businesses, the payoff is in high-stakes proposals. Before a major pitch, a sales or business development team can run force field analysis against a simulated version of the client: which departments are likely to resist, which unexpected groups could become champions, and how to seed those conversations early.

"It allows you to predict the future of your strategy, your proposal, your idea."

    — James Taylor

The most valuable finding is often the one you weren't looking for.

"You've got a whole grouping of people you didn't even know about who are going to be the biggest champions and allies for your proposal."

    — James Taylor

A Rehearsal, Not a Replacement for Judgment

The tool doesn't replace judgment. What it gives leaders is a rehearsal of the real conversation before they have it: the likely blockers surfaced in advance, the hidden champions identified early, and time to shape the proposal around both.

That is the heart of SuperCollaboration: humans and AI working together, with the human still making the call.

    Key Takeaways

Partner managers and senior enterprise sales roles are classic "boundary crossers": high influence, often without direct authority, whose job depends on knowing the client's world as well as their own company's products.

Force field analysis, the classic Lewin model, is the traditional way of mapping allies and resistance before a pitch or proposal.

AI prediction engines take this further: they simulate a strategy or proposal against "synthetics," AI agents modelled as digital twins of real people, organisations or citizens.

Governments are already using this in place of focus groups, testing policy against millions of synthetic citizens to get a probability of success and refine the policy before it's public.

Businesses can use the same approach for high-stakes proposals: identifying which departments will resist, which unexpected groups could become champions, and how to seed those conversations early.

The tool doesn't replace judgment. It gives leaders a rehearsal of the real conversation before they have it.

AI Keynote Speaker San Diego: James Taylor on Cognitive Atrophy and the MIT Study Every Leader Should Know

Recorded at the Gaylord Pacific ahead of closing a technology and defense conference of around 1,000 attendees, James Taylor unpacks the research behind cognitive atrophy — the decline in critical thinking that shows up as organisations deploy AI at scale — and what leaders need to do to stop it.

There is a question senior leaders keep raising in private that rarely makes it onto the conference agenda: what happens to our people's thinking once the AI is doing the thinking?

That question has a name — cognitive atrophy — and it was the subject of this SuperCollaboration episode, recorded in San Diego ahead of a closing keynote for a technology and defense conference of around 1,000 attendees. It is not a fringe worry. It is the concern that comes up, again and again, once an organisation moves past the pilot phase and starts deploying AI at genuine scale.

    What Cognitive Atrophy Actually Means

Cognitive atrophy describes a decline in critical thinking skills tied to over-reliance on the tools. Not a decline in output — output usually goes up. A decline in the underlying capability: the judgement, the recall, the ability to hold a problem in your head and work it through.

The reason senior leaders are raising it now, rather than three years ago, is scale. A handful of people using an LLM to speed up a first draft is one thing. An entire function defaulting to it for every piece of analysis is another. And the thing about atrophy is that it is invisible while it happens. Nobody files a ticket saying their critical thinking has degraded.

The MIT Study: Three Groups, One Essay, EEG Caps

The research James walks through in the episode comes from MIT. The design is simple enough to explain in a sentence: three groups were given the same essay-writing task, with EEG caps on to measure brain activity. One group wrote using an LLM. One group used search engines. One group used nothing but their own thinking.

The results did not favour the assisted groups.

"The group that wasn't using an LLM, wasn't using search engines, were just kind of using their own mind... that had the highest level of activity going on in the brain."

    — James Taylor, SuperCollaboration, San Diego

The Retention Gap Nobody Budgeted For

The brain activity finding is striking on its own. The second finding is the one that should give any leader pause, because it goes to whether the work is being learned at all, not just whether it is being produced.

"The people that wrote using ChatGPT and LLM, they couldn't even remember what they wrote. Think about that."

    — James Taylor, SuperCollaboration, San Diego

Think about what that means inside an organisation. A strategy document gets drafted. It gets circulated, approved, filed. And the person whose name is on it cannot tell you, minutes later, what it actually said. That is not a productivity trade-off you can put on a slide and defend. It is a retention failure — and retention is the thing that compounds into expertise.

    The Robotic Surgery Parallel

If this pattern feels speculative, it shouldn't. James draws the parallel to robotic surgery, where over-reliance on the machine has been shown to erode surgeons' own skills over time. Same mechanism, higher stakes, and a field that has already had to reckon with it.

That parallel is useful in a boardroom because it moves the conversation off "is AI good or bad" — a conversation nobody wins — and onto a narrower, more answerable question: which capabilities does this organisation need to keep sharp in its people, regardless of what the tool can do?

What Leaders Can Actually Do About It

Here is the part that matters most, and it is the part that gets lost when this research circulates as a headline: none of it is an argument for avoiding AI.

"With AI, it doesn't have to be this way."

    — James Taylor, SuperCollaboration, San Diego

The argument is for deliberateness. Organisations that scale AI without a strategy for protecting critical thinking and decision-making will get the productivity gain and the atrophy together, as a package. Organisations that design for both can take the gain and keep the capability. The difference is not the technology. It is whether anyone at the top decided it mattered.

That is the work: naming which decisions stay human, building the habits that keep judgement in play, and making it explicit rather than leaving it to whatever each team drifts into. It is also, not incidentally, what separates the companies that will still have deep expertise in five years from the ones that quietly traded it away for speed.

    Key Takeaways

Cognitive atrophy is the specific risk senior leaders are raising as AI gets deployed at scale: a decline in critical thinking skills tied to over-reliance on the tools.

MIT's EEG study found the group writing essays with no AI or search assistance had the highest brain activity of the three groups tested.

Participants who wrote their essays using an LLM couldn't recall what they'd written afterwards — a retention failure, not just a productivity trade-off.

The pattern mirrors what's already been observed in robotic surgery, where clinicians who lean too heavily on the machine see their own skills decline.

None of this means avoiding AI. It means leaders need deliberate strategies to protect critical thinking and decision-making while scaling AI use.

    Questions
    Frequently Asked Questions

What is cognitive atrophy in the context of AI?
Cognitive atrophy is a decline in critical thinking skills tied to over-reliance on AI tools. It is the specific risk senior leaders are raising as their organisations deploy AI at scale — output rises, but the underlying human capability erodes.

What did the MIT study on AI and brain activity find?
MIT researchers put EEG caps on three groups given the same essay-writing task: one using an LLM, one using search engines, and one using only their own thinking. The unaided group showed the highest level of brain activity of the three.

Why couldn't the ChatGPT group remember what they wrote?
Participants who wrote their essays using an LLM could not recall what they had written moments after finishing. James Taylor describes this as a retention failure rather than a simple productivity trade-off — the work was produced, but it was not learned.

Does this mean organisations should avoid using AI?
No. As James puts it, with AI it doesn't have to be this way. The point is that leaders need deliberate strategies to protect critical thinking and decision-making while scaling AI use, rather than assuming the capability will look after itself.

Can I book James Taylor as an AI keynote speaker in San Diego?

Istanbul Keynote Speaker: James Taylor on Super Collaboration and Avoiding Cognitive Atrophy

Filmed a few hours before stepping on stage for IPPAG in Istanbul, James Taylor walks through the thinking behind his keynote and workshop on SuperCollaboration — how humans and AI can work together at a deeper level than most organisations currently attempt, and why the goal of AI adoption should be wisdom rather than cleverness.

A Few Hours Before the Stage, from Kartal

This one was filmed in Kartal, on Istanbul's Asian side, a few hours before James Taylor stepped on stage for IPPAG. It runs two minutes and fourteen seconds, and in that time it sets out the argument behind the whole session: a keynote and workshop on SuperCollaboration, and why the way most organisations are adopting AI right now is quietly working against them.

If you are planning an event in Istanbul — or anywhere else — on AI, collaboration, creativity or innovation, this is also James putting himself forward for the job.

SuperCollaboration Is About Depth, Not Speed

Most conversations about AI inside organisations are conversations about speed. Faster drafts, faster decks, faster answers. SuperCollaboration starts somewhere else. It is about depth: getting humans and AI to combine in ways that produce genuinely better outcomes, not just faster ones.

That distinction matters because it changes what "good" looks like. If the measure is speed, any tool that shortens the task counts as a win. If the measure is the quality of the outcome, you have to look at what the human brought to it — and whether the collaboration made that contribution sharper or thinner.

    The Brief: Not Cleverer, Wiser

The Istanbul client asked for something more specific than a productivity talk, and James takes that brief head-on in the video.

"The client has asked me to talk about AI not just as a way to be more productive... but how we can use it to become wiser, to make better decisions."

    — James Taylor, Istanbul

He opens the keynote itself with Rumi, which reframes the entire goal of AI adoption before a single tool gets mentioned.

"Yesterday I was clever, and I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, and I want to change myself."

    — Rumi, quoted by James to open the keynote

Cleverness is what most AI deployments optimise for. Wisdom — better judgement, better decisions — is a different target, and it is not one you hit by accident.

Cognitive Atrophy Is a Documented Risk

The hinge of the session is a risk that rarely makes it into the AI strategy deck. Certain patterns of AI use quietly erode the thinking they were supposed to support.

"Certain uses of AI... can actually dull our critical thinking skills."

    — James Taylor, Istanbul

This is not a hunch. MIT research and observations from medicine and surgery point the same way: cognitive atrophy is a real, documented risk, and it shows up over time rather than all at once. The skill does not disappear on the day you start using the tool. It fades while everything still looks fine.

The conclusion James draws is not the cautious one people expect. The fix isn't avoiding AI. It's using it deliberately — in ways that augment judgement instead of replacing it. Which is a design problem, and design problems get solved in workshops, not in lectures.

Why Istanbul Is a Workshop, Not Just a Talk

The Istanbul session was built as a workshop, not a one-way keynote. That structure follows directly from the argument: if the risk is that people outsource their thinking to AI, an hour of being told about it is exactly the wrong intervention. The audience has to do the work in the room.

So the session is built around activities — practical work that gets people using AI in a way that sharpens judgement rather than quietly handing it over. The point is that they leave with a way of working, not a set of notes about a way of working.

It is the same logic behind the SuperCollaboration programme more broadly, and behind the corporate workshop formats: depth is something an audience has to practise, not something a speaker can deliver at them.
