Annie was remembered as extraordinarily selfless, particularly in the way she cared for Jonny, his twin Chris, and other people around her. The discussion then shifts to Jonny's mother, Michelle, who has been battling stage-four breast cancer. Jonny describes a powerful family experience where they essentially held a "living funeral"—sharing what they loved and appreciated about one another while his mother was still alive. That experience dramatically changed Jonny's perspective on family and what constitutes real success in life.

One of the most powerful ideas in the episode is Jonny's description of grief. The episode concludes with a discussion about using business as a vehicle to serve people rather than simply generate income.

Jonny's final message is essentially to trust God enough to hand Him your life, believing that He can do more with it than you can do alone.

Tyler Dabo shares the story behind his personal and professional journey, with a recurring emphasis on becoming a well-rounded person rather than simply a successful entrepreneur.

The conversation begins with Tyler describing his philosophy of competing in every area of life while maintaining perspective. For him, professional success means little if it comes at the expense of his family. He wants his children to remember him as a father who was present, involved in their lives, and someone they would want to spend time with—even potentially work alongside someday.

Tyler then traces his entrepreneurial instincts back through his family history. His grandfather left Croatia as a young man, eventually building businesses in California through hard work, sacrifice, and risk. Visiting his grandfather's birthplace gave Tyler a new appreciation for the courage and character that had been passed down through his family.

That theme of taking calculated risks appears repeatedly throughout Tyler's life. One pivotal example came when he was playing football at Dixie College but realized he still wanted to play baseball. Despite missing the baseball tryouts, he walked onto the field, approached the coach, and earned an opportunity to play. That decision eventually led to baseball becoming a major part of his college experience and opening the door to professional scouting.

Another major crossroads came when Tyler was faced with the possibility of being drafted into professional baseball while simultaneously feeling called to serve a mission. He ultimately chose the mission, despite being warned that returning to baseball afterward would be difficult. Looking back, he considers that sacrifice one of the best decisions of his life because of the experiences and relationships that followed.

Faith becomes an important part of the conversation. Tyler describes praying about the mission decision and feeling a powerful sense of clarity and responsibility. He also discusses his experience serving as a bishop while raising a young family and how that experience changed the way he viewed other people. He learned that virtually everyone is carrying something difficult and that leadership requires patience, compassion, humility, and a willingness to recognize one's own imperfections.

The conversation then shifts toward entrepreneurship. Tyler explains how his career in publishing exposed him to some of Utah's most successful business leaders and ultimately inspired him to leave a comfortable job and build something of his own.

The most intense entrepreneurial story involves Pure Infusion. Tyler and his partners entered healthcare without previous experience in the industry, built the company around being "patient obsessed," and grew it into a large network of ambulatory infusion centers.

Ultimately, Tyler says the greatest reward isn't necessarily the financial result. It's the building—solving problems, working through adversity, improving the process, and watching something grow. He connects this to a lesson from one of his baseball coaches: "putting the hay in the barn." The work you do consistently becomes the preparation that allows you to perform when the moment arrives.

This episode of The Life Legacy Podcast features Josh Hardman, an entrepreneur whose life was dramatically changed after being diagnosed with a brain tumor that was ultimately identified as a grade-four glioblastoma.

Josh begins by describing his intense personality, entrepreneurial drive, athletic background, family, and lifelong tendency to become deeply absorbed in whatever he is pursuing. He then recounts the unusual health symptoms that preceded his diagnosis—including migraines, vision problems, cognitive lapses, vomiting, and worsening physical pain. Eventually, his wife Jennifer insisted that he receive a CT scan, which revealed a tumor roughly the size of a lime in the back of his brain.

The diagnosis forced Josh and his family to confront mortality in a very real way. He talks openly about telling his children that he had terminal cancer, the waves of grief that followed, and the importance of being honest with his kids rather than shielding them completely from what was happening. For Josh, the experience became an unexpected lesson in perspective: even enormous challenges can contain opportunities for growth.

A major portion of the episode explores Josh's spiritual journey. Before his diagnosis, he had already gone through a period of questioning his faith. He describes losing his testimony, asking difficult questions about God and Jesus Christ, and experiencing more than a year of what he describes as silence. Eventually, he experienced what he calls a spiritual awakening that fundamentally changed his understanding of God's relationship to humanity.

That spiritual awakening ultimately became intertwined with his experience during brain surgery. Josh describes what he considers a near-death experience: becoming aware in an infinite, formless space characterized by peace, love, and an absence of fear or scarcity. He describes experiencing himself as something beyond his normal physical identity and feeling as though everything was interconnected.

Josh says the experience reinforced his belief that God is not distant or separate from humanity. Instead, he came away believing that God is present within everyone and that people are expressions of God. He later summarized this idea as: if you want to see God, look into the eyes of a stranger.
The conversation then turns toward identity and self-worth. Josh explains that he has had to gradually let go of the things he once believed defined him—including entrepreneurship, technology, his career, physical ability, and ultimately even his body. He realized that these things are parts of him, but they aren't who he is.
The episode closes with Josh emphasizing love, connection, perspective, and the importance of asking big questions. His final message is deeply personal: people matter, they are seen and loved, and God is present with them through whatever they are experiencing.

In Episode 54 of the Life Legacy podcast, Jaxon Cummings sits down with entrepreneur Josh Zieglowsky for an unusually vulnerable conversation about what it really takes to build a successful life.

Josh shares his journey from working at Sears and taking commission-based jobs to real estate investing and eventually helping build an ERC-related business that grew from a small idea into more than $1.8 billion in sales in under three years. He explains that the breakthrough wasn't simply having a great idea—it came from surrounding himself with people who possessed skills he didn't have and learning to share the pie rather than trying to do everything himself.

But the episode goes far beyond business. Josh talks openly about some of his biggest "strikeouts," including the emotional and financial consequences of an oil business investment involving his parents. His parents eventually sued him over their investment, creating an enormous personal and professional strain. Rather than allowing the conflict to define the rest of his relationship with them, Josh ultimately chose to repay their investment even though he wasn't legally required to, creating an opportunity for reconciliation.

The conversation then explores family conflict more broadly, including Josh's efforts to help his nephew reconcile with his estranged parents. His central message is that sometimes reconciliation requires someone to stop focusing on being right and instead focus on preserving relationships for the next generation.

Jaxon also shares his own emotional experience with his father, including how prayer and forgiveness changed their relationship before his father's death. Josh also discusses his spiritual journey, including being excommunicated from the LDS Church in his younger years and eventually returning to the church more than two decades later. Ultimately, Josh defines "rich" not simply as financial wealth, but as creating meaningful memories with his family. His goal is to build enough financial freedom to spend more time with his wife, children, and eventually grandchildren.

The episode ends with perhaps the clearest statement of Josh's philosophy: if he had one final opportunity to speak to his loved ones, he would tell them to continue creating and building love with one another.
