- Dr. Adrienne Fletcher is a psychologist, author, speaker, and survivor whose life and work sit at the intersection of trauma, healing, identity, and transformation.
After more than two decades in the mental health field, she now speaks and writes about the realities of complex trauma, Dissociative Identity Disorder, post-traumatic growth, and what it means to build a meaningful life beyond survival.
Her unique perspective comes from both sides of the therapy room as a clinician who spent years helping others heal and as a survivor who has navigated her own journey of integration, loss, resilience, and reinvention.
Dr. Fletcher is a columnist for Psychology Today, a published author in American Psychiatric Association journals, and the author of the children’s book The Adventures of Rockette and Coopie: A Gentle Story About Big Feelings and Brave Hearts.
Her upcoming publication, What Integration Actually Felt Like: A Psychologist’s Lived Experience of DID, offers a rare perspective from someone who has walked the path of healing both personally and professionally.
Through her writing, speaking, and consultation work, Dr. Adrienne helps individuals, clinicians, and organizations navigate uncertainty, embrace authenticity, and discover what becomes possible when pain is transformed into purpose.

Her path was shaped by profound non-ordinary experiences with psychedelics, which led her to advocate for greater understanding and normalization of spiritual emergencies, including voice hearing, shamanic-style awakenings, and psychic experiences.
Her work emphasizes trauma-informed healing practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Through speaking, film, and writing, Sunshine promotes religious tolerance, compassion, and deeper conversations around experiences that are often misunderstood or stigmatized.
