Nicki Schmidt, Continuous Improvement Advisor, at the University of Michigan Health- Michigan Medicine has a distinct journey of 18 years in healthcare.  Regular listeners to The Lens have heard us share that to really incorporate and living Lean Improvement in healthcare is a journey. Nicki has a marvelous and inspiring tale to share.

Dr. Lucas Zier from Zuckerberg San Francisco General is going to give us some insight into the Zuckerberg LeanAI efforts. Most are looking at task-based applications, note-taking, or some analytics.  Zuckerberg is working with AI to support Lean improvement efforts, ultimately throughout their system.  For example, using an AI tool to augment Humble Inquiry.

Robin Ziko and Martin Pallotta, both Process Engineers with UMass in Massachusetts, are here to share about One System One Strategy. Systemic thinking is core to the Catalysis philosophy. There is much risk of waste when separate processes of a system do not work together. UMass has integrated system thinking throughout the organization.

Alli Kulp, Senior Lean Advisor with OhioHealth, helps us to understand how critical “coaching for all” is as anexpectation and how it supports cultural standards of improvement and problem solving.
