In today’s episode, Brock Johnson walks through what to do right now if your Reels aren’t getting views. It starts with creating the post: go to your top five favorite accounts (they don’t have to be in your niche), use a tool like Poppy AI to pull their most viral Reels, look for common threads in format, topic, and hook, and recreate your own version.

Then Brock gives you the full routine for posting day. Delete all your Stories, then spend 10 minutes commenting on other people’s posts and replying to Stories, focusing on people who follow you and engage regularly and people in your niche. When you post, He goes through the settings to check: location, music, translate, also share on, wifi, closed captions, and the caption. After that, add a pinned comment, respond to all comments, like comments on your previous post, and cross promote. Finally, he covers responding to all unanswered DMs and then comments, priming your Story, and sharing the post to your Story with complementary text.

In today’s episode, Brock Johnson shares what he learned from making 3,238 Reels: educational content is dead, and entertainment needs to be the focus. That doesn’t mean dancing, aesthetics, flexing, trends, or silly stunts. It means retention is king. He starts with skip rate, the first step in retention. When people swipe away immediately, the first-frame visual was usually off-putting, uninteresting, or read as a scam, which mostly happens on normal Reels rather than trial Reels. He goes through the first-frame checklist: does the visual relate to the topic, is it plain and obvious, did you follow the rule of 3, is it HD, is it bright but not too bright, and is there an unexpected element.

From there, Brock breaks down the other places retention falls apart: a bad hook or uninteresting topic, a video that feels redundant or gives people the “I got it” effect, and a good video with a bad ending, usually an outro, a CTA, or a recap. He covers how to open loops, how to add secondary hooks right where people drop, and other ways to keep people watching longer, plus the questions he asks when he sees a drop-off. The goal is a 50% retention rate or higher. Hit that, and the video naturally earns a high engagement rate and lands above average or even great.

In today’s episode, Brock Johnson is breaking down the plan he used to reach 1 million followers on Instagram. It starts with posting three kinds of content: shareworthy posts built with my SHARE checklist (Simple, strong Hook, Authentic, Relatable, Entertaining), posts with DM automation, and more carousels, since they beat Reels on engagement and far fewer people post them. Every week, the DM automation posts promote four things: my personal email list (the R.E.P.O.R.T.), the business email list through a freebie, the $7 two-week trial, and the podcast and YouTube channel.

Brock also covers the volume and systems behind it: five trial Reels a day scheduled in Metricool, expecting most to flop and swinging anyway, plus five feed posts a day. In 2025 he went from about 2.5 to 4 posts a day and grew from roughly 20K to 65K followers per half-year. To keep that pace without burning out, Brock built systems in Dropbox and Google Drive, upcycle every evergreen post at least three times 90+ days apart, and batch and schedule months ahead, with seasonal posts up to a year out. He closes with one collab post a week, where he offered to do most of the work like Marketing Harry does, and the symbiotic relationship between YouTube, the podcast, and Instagram, where each one feeds followers to the other.

In today's episode, Brock Johnson is breaking down a new Trial Reels hack I'm calling the Triple Double Method that's helping accounts go viral repeatedly off a single piece of content. The idea starts simple: post a Trial Reel, then post the normal Reel version, then post a mirrored Trial Reel with a few key changes, zooming in the video, speeding it up, re-editing the hook, changing the on-screen text, and adding a non-Instagram filter or color change. From there, you repost that same content again at the 90-day mark and again at 180 days, turning one video into five separate uploads.

Brock also covers the second version of the method, where instead of one video, you create three different hook variations shot on two cameras, giving you six total videos, and when you mirror each one using the same edit changes, that turns into twelve Trial Reels from a single piece of original content. This is a way to squeeze significantly more testing and reach out of the content you're already creating without having to constantly produce something new.
