This episode started with a dinner at my mom's house and a sentence I never expected to hear: "Oh yeah — I know Louise."
I'd been talking about Louise Hay's inner child healing meditation, assuming my mom had never heard of her. What I didn't know was that back in 2009, when my dad left my mom after 34 years of marriage, a friend recommended she call a woman named Louise for support. That woman was Louise Hay — founder of Hay House, one of the biggest self-help publishers in the world. They started as client and coach. They became friends. And eventually, my mom paid for my dad to have his own sessions with Louise — sessions that helped him understand his pattern of sabotage and where it was rooted.
I found Louise Hay independently in 2011. I'd been hiding it from my mom because I thought she'd think it was too "out there" for her Christian faith. Turns out she already knew her personally.
That's not a coincidence. That's a thread. And this episode is about learning to see those threads for what they are — divine alignment, working quietly in the background, waiting for you to be ready to receive it.
"My mom didn't find Louise in the good times. She found her because of the storm. The storm wasn't the punishment — the storm was the door." THE 4R FRAMEWORK
Restriction
Staying steady when nothing seems to be happening externally. The lighthouse season. Your restriction is never wasted.
Rootedness
Doing the inner work, holding the feminine, not chasing. God doesn't align you when you're running — He aligns you when you're rooted.
Receiving
Divine alignment sends you the right people, teachers, and mirrors — right on time. When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
Ripple
What you heal doesn't just change you — it changes everyone in your orbit. Your community is downstream of who you're becoming.
THE LIGHTHOUSE AND THE SHIP
The masculine is the ship — it goes out to sea, it pursues, it captures. The feminine is the lighthouse — she stays stationed, she holds the light, she makes it safe to return. A lighthouse that chases the ship is no longer a lighthouse.
My grandparents just celebrated their 78th anniversary. My grandpa turns 100 in just days. That kind of staying power requires both people to know their role. My dad was the visionary — the ship. My mom was the structure — the lighthouse. When he sailed away and never came back, I believe something in him couldn't survive that separation from his purpose. The ship that stops returning to harbour eventually gets lost at sea.
I'm still sitting with that realization. I share it not as a universal rule, but as something I've been quietly unwrapping — and as a reminder that God's alignment is never random.
QUESTIONS TO SIT WITH
What if the storm you're in right now isn't breaking you — what if it's the door?
Are you trying to be the ship AND the lighthouse at the same time?
What would it look like to stop chasing and start shining instead?
Where has God already sent you the right person — and did you recognize it?
Is your brand being built from the ship or the lighthouse right now?
