In this episode, we speak with Dr. Roxana Daneshjou, MD/PhD, a physician-scientist who combines her expertise in dermatology and artificial intelligence.  Dr. Daneshjou shares her journey, which began with studying Bioengineering at Rice University, followed by earning her MD and PhD in Genetics at Stanford School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at Stanford as part of the research track and went on to complete a postdoc in Biomedical Data Science.  In our conversation, Dr. Daneshjou discusses the evolution of AI in dermatology, what the future holds for the field, and offers valuable advice for aspiring dermatologists and physician-scientists. Today we spoke with Dr. Alyssa Becker, MD. She is a 2024 graduate from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) who will be starting dermatology residency at the University of Connecticut in 2025 after completing her prelim year at the University of Hawaii Internal Medicine Program. She talks about creating connections while being miles away from other academic institutions while lacking a home dermatology program. She talks about her path in medical school and into dermatology.
